My recipe Nut Butter Veggie Power Biscuits, posted in this Food Blog will be an easy recipe to make in your kitchen along with all those delicious fresh fruits and veggies for that special dog treats!NOTE: Before giving your dog new treats, it's always best to give a small taste to see how your dog's GI tract may respond.
3cupsOld Fashioned OatsOr substitute with Almond Flour (non-grain), or half/half of each.
1/3 cup Nut Butter*Peanut or replace with Almond butter as some animal may have an allergy to peanuts, as may the owners!
1EggEgg whites can be used
2tbspWhole Wheat flour, as needed
1cup Carrots, shreddedAbout 1-2 carrots depending on the size of the carrots
1/2cupPumpkin PureeCanned, organic or fresh
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Line cookie sheets with parchment paper
Blend together the pumpkin puree, egg, nut butter together
Gradually add the flour half of a cup at a time so can blend well
Add carrots
Knead the dough into a ball. Chill in the fridge for about an hour so it is easier to roll out and use cookie cutter of your choice.
Once rolled out, cookie cutter might need a little flour so they do not stick.
Place on the cookie sheet pan and bake for 25 minutes or until the treats begin to brown around the edges.
Wait to cool before offering to your dog.
